Girls just wanna have fu-un...girls just wanna have fun

Don't you just love having a fabulous night out with your girls? I do. Now don't get me wrong, I absolutely adore date nights with hubby and get-togethers with other couples, but there is just something so amazing about having a supportive group of girlfriends that you can giggle with and share life experiences.

Our girl's night at Bern's was very special because it included my best friend Jessica from Louisiana (who just so happens to also be my Lil Sis in our sorority), my dear friend Whitney from Louisiana, who just moved to Tampa to start doctor school (we became close during our master's program), and my dear friend Derbis, who was the first true friend I made after moving to Tampa. We haven't all been together since my bachelorette party in New Orleans two years ago, so it was really great to catch up and reminisce.

After our delicious meal, we toured the kitchen, cheese cave, and wine cellars. The Bern's wine cellar is the largest in the nation and has wines dating back to the 1700s, some of which are priced at over $10,000. We then headed upstairs to the dessert room (yes, there is a separate room for dessert) and ordered coffees and shared a Vintage Chocolate Lush. A night at Bern's is an experience (we were there for four hours), which makes it perfect for catching up with the girls. An added bonus is that the food is to die for...they actually have have their own farm where they raise all the veggies, fish, and meat that is used at the restaurant. Becoming a server at Bern's is a career. The training process lasts an entire year, which includes working in the kitchen and on the farm before they are allowed to wait tables. Pretty impressive, no?
